Ultrasound!

There's our little turkey!!

We went in Monday at 9, and we were out by 9:30. In case you don't know much about them, they do two different kinds of ultrasounds. One is a bit invasive (not in a painful, cut you open way, just seems a bit uncomfy) and the other is the one you always see them doing. I was told at the last appointment that, since it was still early, it would be the not so fun way. That had me a bit nervous. Well, the doctor comes in and acts like he is going to do it with the gel on the belly. I asked him if that was going to work, and he said it was worth a try. I had heard that it is harder to get a reading on this if you are a bit heavier, which I am, and that they ask you to come in with a full bladder when they do, which I didn't do. Anyway, we got a great picture just fine! I was so happy.

I went in with an estimated due date of August 20, which was 10 weeks, 2 days. When he measured, that is exactly what he put me at. Out of the 4 pictures he took, one of them measured at 10 weeks, 6 days. Daniel and I joked that it was probably the head measurement.

I had to do a little math to figure out the heartbeat, and it was 165. Also, I didn't see the baby move at all. I hear about people going in this far along and seeing the baby wiggle around everywhere. That was a little disappointing. And I have lost 10 pounds. He asked me if I have been able to eat, and I said yes. He wasn't concerned about anything, and told me there is now a 95% chance that I will carry to full term. That was all I needed to hear. I've started telling everyone!
