Ultrasound!

There's our little turkey!!

We went in Monday at 9, and we were out by 9:30. In case you don't know much about them, they do two different kinds of ultrasounds. One is a bit invasive (not in a painful, cut you open way, just seems a bit uncomfy) and the other is the one you always see them doing. I was told at the last appointment that, since it was still early, it would be the not so fun way. That had me a bit nervous. Well, the doctor comes in and acts like he is going to do it with the gel on the belly. I asked him if that was going to work, and he said it was worth a try. I had heard that it is harder to get a reading on this if you are a bit heavier, which I am, and that they ask you to come in with a full bladder when they do, which I didn't do. Anyway, we got a great picture just fine! I was so happy.

I went in with an estimated due date of August 20, which was 10 weeks, 2 days. When he measured, that is exactly what he put me at. Out of the 4 pictures he took, one of them measured at 10 weeks, 6 days. Daniel and I joked that it was probably the head measurement.

I had to do a little math to figure out the heartbeat, and it was 165. Also, I didn't see the baby move at all. I hear about people going in this far along and seeing the baby wiggle around everywhere. That was a little disappointing. And I have lost 10 pounds. He asked me if I have been able to eat, and I said yes. He wasn't concerned about anything, and told me there is now a 95% chance that I will carry to full term. That was all I needed to hear. I've started telling everyone!

First Doctor Visit

I went for my first doctor visit on Wednesday. I wanted to wait until then to tell family, and wait until the ultrasound on the 24th to tell everyone else. Daniel and I were going to the Moose the night before, and he said we should go ahead and tell Mom and Stan. We weren't sure when we would be together with them again afterward, so I decided that was ok.
The doctor went well. She said I am measuring right on. They did blood work and everything, and they said they would call me if there were any problems. I haven't heard anything, so I take that as a good sign. Actually, the nurse practitioner did call the next day. I was a little scared when I saw the message from her. She just let me know that, if I get a migraine, I can call them and they can find something for me to take. I was warned I would probably see the nurse practitioner. I wasn't warned I would have a student! She seemed timid, but she did a good job.
That night, we went out to eat with Daniel's parents and Katie. We gave them a picture frame with Grandparents on it and put in a paper. It was supposed to say something about to be developed around 8/20/2011, but Daniel put 2010! I don't think anyone noticed.
I ended up telling everyone at work. Honestly, at this point, if anything bad were to happen, I would tell them anyway. Also, Daniel and I went to play games at Keri's house Friday night, so we told Keri and Lindsey too! I feel bad, cause we haven't told Dad yet. He's been super busy, and I didn't wanna just run by there on my lunch hour. I hope to stop by there tonight on our way home from the Titanic exhibit we are going to. Also we will probably stop by at least a couple of the grandmas' houses.
I really don't like having attention on me, so I kind of prefer to just tell people and stop talking about it!
